Gardening starts.

Planted a two foot by eight foot box with half Pak Choi and half Swiss Chard. Last Frost scheduled for June 7th however both those plants are cold lovers so unless it gets really cold they should be fine. Pak Choi with its short growing time of 30-40 days should allow for another planting in the space once it has been harvested.

Days are sunny and in low to mid teens, overnight near zero – forecast same for the next week with gradually increasing temperatures.

Just to be safe I will build a hoop house over the box in the next few days.

Garden looks a little empty so far… but only frost tolerant, cold loving plants for now. Preparing beds for more plantings – including some fertilizer/compost and turning of the soils.
